Today’s styled shoot has been taken in the most glorious Italian countryside, that in itself is so romantic. It is an elopement shoot, where two lovers have run off for a simple, elegant wedding embracing the scenery captured in with a moody photo style. We love everything about this shoot! It was styled by Parade Wedding who have shared with us their inspiration.
The Concept
We plan and design destination weddings and elopements in Italy so we wanted to create an inspirational styled shoot to show what that means for us and our couples. We wanted a warm and intimate atmosphere, elegant and sophisticated details with romantic and gentle flower arrangements and table set up; something that represents what we do for our clients
Since the shoot was set in an ancient villa, we were influenced by old stories about holidays faraway from cities that people used to take during past centuries (i.e. XVI and XVII). We imagined a bride and a groom living in a big city, going back to their roots, in Italy, to celebrate their love in a natural set.”
The Location
“We chose Villa Galli because it is an intimate and romantic aristocratic villa surrounded by olive and ancient trees in the heart of Sabina. It is set in the beautiful countryside, close to Rome so perfect for en elopement or an intimate wedding in Italy.”
The Styling Inspiration
“The traditional and essential space traces the frame of the wedding table and becomes never-ending, endless for two. We set the naked table and the soft pink together with the undergrowth colors. Nature offers itself to the love and the ceramic of the dishes arises from the gentle light of the candles, while the glasses in pink crystal paint the lovers’ shelter. Outside, in the garden, our lovers find their happiness, the joy for a celebration, through a toast and the colours become more intense. After the holy moment, they smile and joke, they talk to each other as best friends as well as lovers”
The Photography Inspiration
“The photos were taken by Slow Picture Studio, who are talented and poetical photographers from Rome characterized by their retrò and romantic style. The inspiration was capturing a glorious past with a romantic way of life here in the villa.”
The Bridal Inspiration
“The wedding dress is by Vintachic and is a true vintage one from 1970s; perfect for our elegant, romantic and unconventional bride Amelia.”
The Flowers Inspiration
“A raw luxury floral style by Copihue Floral Studio was followed for the internal table, designed to highlight the essentials of the rooms yet at the same time expressing elegance and a sophisticated and unconventional design. Everything was played on the principle of balance and contrast: in the same mise en place, a style linked to the Dutch painting for a cup, opposite to the ikebana used for the other one. The balance was made by the use of the same supports, made in handcrafted ceramic, and by the use of candles and the blush, soft and ethereal runner.”
“The exteriors have been designed to end the elopement, with a sophisticated style, unstructured and at the same time more informal. Here the design has followed the natural movement of the flowers, according to the principles of “back to nature” movement, able to emphasise the shapes and the volumes of the flowers, the textures and the colours: the contrast was played on the tone of the blue, in harmony with the flowers of the location, the tablecloth and the bride’s dress.”
“The bouquet has been designed to narrate itself in a natural way, with different shades, like the bride’s personality. Able to amaze and describe a story consistent with the dress and style of wedding day.”
“So to inspire an authentic and unconventional mood, the bouquet has been created with a deconstructed shape, with a natural movement and with the insertion of unusual elements: golden foliage, also upside down, to amaze and give continuity to the softness of the flowers, in harmony with the texture, colour and shape of the dress. Specially designed to be observed from different points of view and to always amaze: depending on the perspective from which it is observed, you notice a more rounded shape, or decomposed or completely unstructured.”
“The ethereal sense has been strengthened by ribbons of the same color of the dress, in different shades.”
Cake Inspiration
“We chose a naked cake to underline the meaning of a natural and simple situation. No need decorations or special accessories to tell a story about authentic elegance and true love.”
Groom style Inspiration
“The bow-tie was made entirely handcrafted by the Ittalian company Banderari. A multi-form accessory, with two tissues in chromatic harmony and stylistic contrast for the texture at the same time. A groom both elegant and informal thanks to this accessory, where classic and modern styles fuse together.”
The Stationery
“The stationery designs for Amelia and Finley has been created by Francesca, Aka Cartacanta, a young calligrapher that for the occasion realized the invitations and the tags. The colour used is gold.”
