Today’s alternative bridal shoot offers something a little different. The look is inspired by the Madonna, an iconic look steeped deep in religion, along with rosary beads, jewelled colours and a statuesque stance. It is by an array of talented wedding suppliers. Lauren Depelch from French Made tells us all about it…
“This bridal inspiration shoot took place at the stunning Ringshall Grange in Suffolk, England. The concept was inspired by Andalusian cultures focusing on the religious and symbolic importance of Madonna. We imagined a solemn, passionate, devoted bride awaiting her husband to be.”
“The colour palette dominated by purples (majestic colour that used be reserved for royalty and church), deep red, black and gold suggested a darker and moodier feel for the styling and stunning photography by Joanna from Joasis Photography.”
The thought process behind the stationery taken directly from the ‘crying Madonna’ theme. Lou from Beyond Vintage pulled red out from the colour palette and experimented with watercolour, almost like blood stained teardrops onto the paper. Mixed with complimenting calligraphy and text fonts to complete the collection. Finished with hand dyed silk ribbon and a wax seal.”
“Vintage lace wedding dresses and veils by Days of Grace worked perfectly in creating a look that takes us back to a Spanish colonial residence for a candlelit wedding dinner. Handmade headpieces and vintage jewellery by Myriam from La Dame au Beret and shoes from Love Art Wear Art complemented the bridal look. Petra and Yaasmin, our models were beautifully styled by Myriam.”
“Lou from Beyond Vintage put together the styling of the table which was purposely styled quite dark, with black lace, vintage brass goblets, candlesticks, rosaries, crucifixes and religious figures. There was an almost luxurious, decadent vintage aspect with fruits and flowers overflowing and silk napkins tied with beads and finished with grapes. Glassware was a mix of gold tipped modern glasses with vintage cobalt blue tumblers to add a depth and compliment to the dark red tones. Although all the aspects were dark on the table it pulled a luxurious almost regal feel. The cake by French Made was a marble effect semi naked three tiered decorated with dark fruit and matching flowers.”
“The whole room was filled with pillar candles and decorated with purple dominated stunning flower arrangements by Waterbaby Flowers. All elements of the styling worked create an intimate mystical and majestic atmosphere for the dinner. Mismatched chairs, furniture that show signs of use bring a modern twist to traditional table setting.”
