If you’re looking for cool urban city wedding inspiration then look no further! These stylish and sassy images of a wedding – Shoreditch style are sure to give you all the feels, and show us a city wedding done to perfection! After all, not all of us want a traditional manor house or a spectacular church to tie the knot. We catch up with Miao Chen of Aneberry Bridal who co-ordinated this cool urban city wedding in Shoreditch…
“Quite often wedding photos are very serious, we want to show that they can also be fun, so I put together this Shoreditch elopement shoot which is casual but full of energy with a street fashion theme.”
“The concept of the shoot is influenced by current street culture. Fashion often starts from the streets, and there is a large community of street fashion lovers, however in the wedding industry, it is not well represented, so we decided to do this shoot to reflect the street culture.”
“We did the shoot in Shoreditch. Shoreditch is one of London’s trendiest places with amazing street art, lively markets and quirky vintage shops, we think Shoreditch’s arty atmosphere gave the shoot a funky street fashion feel.”
“The overall styling is following a ‘street fashion’ theme, adopting vibrant colours. The feel that we wanted to create is fun, intimate and edgy.”
Bridal – Aneberry
“We used the wedding dress ‘Miley’ from Aneberry. It is a very romantic wedding dress forming an A-line shape. The corset is semi see-through with lace appliques overlay soft French lace, decorated with light-catching beads and sequins. As the corset does not have a solid lining, the lace sits against the skin which makes it really stand out. The back is a sheer tulle layer with decorative lace and satin buttons, showcasing the brides beautiful back.”
Jewellery – Catherine Marche
“The ‘bride’ is wearing “I love you to the moon and back” ring with a white moonstone and a matte sterling silver wedding band, symbolising purity and eternal love. We chose a pair of gorgeous 18ct gold drop earrings with raw aquamarine nuggets and natural baroque freshwater pearls, adding the famous “something blue” to bring her luck and happiness. The gemstones are a representation of a very special love story, unique and personal journey.”
Florals – Vicki’s Floral Design
“The flower bouquet and hairpiece are provided by Vicki’s Floral Designs. Our inspiration for the bridal bouquet was loose, slightly asymmetrical and an unstructured design, which is a very modern design and fits well with the ‘cool Shoreditch vibe’. We used seasonal blooms such a blowsy Duchess de Nemours peonies, textural thistles and arching Spirea in a muted colour palette of white, blue and pale pink.”
Hair and Make Up – – Kayleigh Keen
“Our makeup artist was Kayleigh Keen. For the look we created something super fresh and a little bolder and creative to go with the style of the shoot. We added a flush of colour to the cheeks to mirror the colourful surroundings and went with a pop of pastel on the lips.”
“The ‘bride’ has natural short hair which is super cool and very complimentary to the Shoreditch Street vibe. We decided to keep her hair as it is and just styled with a flower hair clip.”
Photography – Ioana Porav
“The images are photographed and edited by Ioana Porav. The style we chose for the photos is bright and colourful. We took a very relaxed and spontaneous approach towards posing and photographing the couple”
“We had lots of unexpected encounters during the shoot. There was a group of famous graffiti artists who were working on their new masterpiece; we borrowed a pink snake denim jacket from Rag Yard vintage shop; and we met two adorable Poodles – Fyfy & Toffy, who we had to take photos with. None of these were planned, but all added an interesting element to the elopement shoot in Shoreditch.”
