Boho Beach Wedding with Ombre Dress and Blue Wedding Cake
“We met at a photography workshop earlier in the year and were bouncing ideas around and both agreed that we would love to collaborate on a beach themed shoot together. We both absolutely love photographing weddings, and being on the beach so why not combine the two! For this shoot we wanted to create something that we loved the look of, but that might also be some source of inspiration for other couples looking to get married.”
“We took our main influences from the beach itself, and we knew we wanted the main colour theme to be blues and white. We also love watercolour and ombre patterns, so really wanted to include this in the shoot. Once we saw the dress we knew we knew it was the one and from there the whole thing really pulled together.”
“We started looking for a beautiful beach location, and when we saw Thorpeness Country Club, we knew that was the venue for us. It has a beautiful interior, which allowed us to set up the tablescape inside, as well as have a private stretch of beach which meant we could have all the beautiful couples shots with the stunning beach backdrop.”
Make Up – Jenny Buckland
“Having a bronzed glow and flawless skin was the inspiration for the make-up look. This created a beach feel to the make-up with a soft shimmer on the eyes and false lashes to accentuate the eye area in the sunshine. A hint of colour on the lips using Delilah hush a popular nude shade added definition to the lips. A soft breeze is common on the beach, so I choose a soft style to keep the hair tidy yet looking loose and effortless.”
Bouquet – Triangle Nursery
“To create our bridal bouquet, we used blue and grey tones to reflect the colours of the sea; tumbling mixed fabric ribbons, and unstructured foliage to echo the Boho style.”
“The design was a hand-tied, casual and unconventional styled bouquet using cornflowers; Anemones; Agapanthus; Amaranthus; Thlaspi Green Bell and assorted mixed Eucalyptus.”
“The light sea breeze emphasised the movement within the bouquet, giving an untamed impression suiting the bride with an artistic, free spirit.”
Cake – Amelia’s Kitchen
“The inspiration for the cake came from the beautiful watercolour invitations keeping the cake very clean and simple with a white background and a loose wave like wash of watercolour at the base of each tier. A small cluster of white flowers, twigs and dark blue berries was added to make a statement.”
Hair Accessories – Rachel Louise
“My inspiration for the shoot very much came from the theme, dress and hairstyle. I work very closely with hair stylists and what I aim to do with my bespoke accessories is to complement a hairstyle, never complicate it. Some wedding hair creations are so intricate and detailed, that I’m careful to use what I believe will only enhance it, not over shadow it, and these beautiful floral pins worked perfectly with the outdoor/beach theme and the beautiful hair that was created by Jenny.”
Dress – Bex Brides
“I love colour and ombre is so beautiful. I have developed my own technique to hand colour my gowns, whether they are my bespoke creations or as in this case an eco-friendly vintage skirt I coloured, in which I combine the effects of dip dye, ombre and air brush effects.”
“With this skirt I wanted to great the effect of the colours of the sea and waves but also a brilliant blue summer blue with fluffy clouds. I was honoured to be asked to be part of such a talented team of suppliers.”
