It’s dreamy beach vibes today for this wedding inspiration at Eype Beach, Dorset. An alternative boho beach elopement with simple styling and elements, proving less really can be more. With stunning photography by coordinator Madeleine Jones, it’s moody, romantic and super intimate. We catch up with the creative suppliers behind the shoot and they share their top tips and advice on creating your own beach elopement wedding and, give you an insight into how they created this beautiful inspiration…
Inspiration
“Do you ever get ’that feeling’ when you watch a romantic film? Well, this is exactly the feeling I wanted to create. I recently watched both The Notebook and A Star is Born. Both films are incredibly romantic and emotive, which suits my photography style perfectly. I knew I wanted to keep it simplistic – less really can be more. The idea of it just being the two of them on a boat, embracing the elements was perfect. I then wanted to continue that feeling into the evening inspired by a “Star is Born’. I could picture the couple sat on the roof, playing the guitar, and watching the waves crash. It rained and was incredibly windy which was perfect!”
“If the idea of an intimate coastal elopement is for you, then you’ll be relieved to know that this can easily be achieved with a few simple details. Stunning florals are a detail that can really add to your vibe. As well as a bouquet is there anywhere else you can add florals to make it that little bit ‘extra’. You could book some transport, a camper, a cool car or a motorbike. Not only will this be fun, but it also creates a base for you both and looks great in photos. If you want to add a little more; details such as a personalised vow book, a ‘just married sign’ and cosy blankets and cushions would finish it off nicely. And finally, embrace the weather and the elements around you.”
“Boho styled weddings have become increasingly popular which makes it easier than ever to find the right suppliers. Shikoba Bride provided Kiki, a gorgeous silk chiffon modern boho dress, with flowing bishop sleeves with lace cuff details for all the drama. This combined with a flower crown from Luna and Wild, worked perfectly to create a simple yet stunning boho bride look. The groom wore forest green suit trousers from ASOS, combined with a white shirt, brown bowtie, and braces. Both the Bride and Groom finished off the look with some Dr Martens.”

“Choosing the right photographer for you is important. Your photos are such a special keepsake from your wedding that you will look back on for years to come. Have a look through Instagram or Pinterest and see what editing style you like. Once you have chosen a style, reach out to some photographers who have the same aesthetic. It’s important to build a rapport with your wedding photographer so that you will relax and trust them on your wedding day. It’s a good idea to arrange a meeting or video call to see if you share the same vision and vibe. Whilst it’s important to keep within your budget, the cheapest photographer isn’t always the best option.”

“It’s important to keep an open mind, so often a dress looks totally different on the hanger and just comes to life when you put it on. Try on some dresses that are a little outside your comfort zone too, you may be surprised. The boutique staff are usually pretty good at recommending ideas for styles that will work for you and that impartial advice is golden. Ultimately, it’s your decision, don’t allow the opinions of well-meaning friends and family have the final say on how you feel about what you wear. You do you and wear what you want, what makes you feel comfortable and awesome. Also, don’t worry about looking “timeless’, or a dress that will date, who cares! It’s cool to wear something that epitomises the era you live in now, don’t worry about how it will look in photos in 10 – 20 years’ time!”
Hair and Makeup – The Artful Hairstylist and Jordan Kindersley MUA
“Get your hair in great condition before your big day! Regular trims are advised to get rid of split ends. Invest in good hair products Eleven Australia miracle treatment is a favourite. Turn down the heat! Less heat styling will make your hair look at its best. To achieve this look you can add clip-in extensions. They are great if your hair doesn’t hold a curl, also to add volume and length. Bridal ponytails are a favourite this year, and so many ways to style them! it’s all in the details, little braids bring the boho vibe. It is good to keep your skin hydrated prior to your wedding day, and exfoliating can help too. For this look, the bride’s skin was kept sheer and luminous with subtle sculpting and bronze tones. Combined with an intense and sultry smokey eye, it gave a boho vibe with a grungy edge.”

Flowers – Botany & Blossom
“Creating this boho-chic look with sustainably and locally sourced flowers was an absolute dream. Using a colour combination of soft, rusty tones and blush nudes pulled together with flashes of deep orange to add depth, this look complimented the riverboat elopement perfectly. Pampas grass and forest foliage was a perfect addition to bring an informal but chic feel to the shoot, making the boat flowers easy to manipulate to suit the camper van afterwards.”
Campervan – Vintage Camper Booths
Wedding elopements are incredibly free-spirited and romantic, so we were delighted when Madeleine asked us to be a part of her romantic styled shoot beach elopement! We created a unique and authentic ‘Ceremony Area Back Drop’ with our VW Campervan. It looked so beautiful with the colourful floral decor from Botany & Blossom and our additional styling. We also created a romantic and cosy set-up in the back where the couple could snuggle up together and celebrate ‘just getting married’ on the dramatic and beautiful Jurassic coast!
