Inspiration
“This shoot was very boho-inspired. Many couples choose to hold their weddings in Mallorca, so we wanted to show how this can be done whilst breaking a bit of tradition. As you can see from the photos, the shoot was largely inspired by the orange grove at the gorgeous Finca venue. The cake, table and even the bridal bouquet played tribute to the fruit- it’s something unexpected but the results were absolutely stunning. The orange also added a hint of colour to the event and brightened up the whole affair.”
“If you’re struggling with a theme, take a look at what your venue already has and take inspiration from it. Just like at this shoot, the orange grove was a large part of the venue, so this inspired the décor and theme hugely. If you already have a theme in mind, the best way to turn this into a reality is to create a mood board with all your ideas and begin to look for vendors that can help you create your vision. Also, hiring a trusted wedding professional to help you realise your dream is always a great idea- not to mention a lot less stressful!”
Venue
“This shoot took place at the stunning Finca Biniagual in Mallorca, Spain. This venue was somewhat of a small village, with 14 buildings and of course, the sprawling orange grove. The rustic, elegant and classic look of the venue inspired the shoot massively. This venue is perfect for those looking for destination weddings in Spain, its numerous outdoor areas mean you can take advantage of the Spanish sun and hold the event outside but there’s also a private chapel if you’re looking for a more traditional wedding.”
Styling
“We love the unique styling of this shoot. The wedding dress was long and flowy, with a relaxed bohemian vibe, it suited the location perfectly. For the groom, a non-traditional light cream suit was chosen, perfectly complementing the bright day the shoot took place on. What really stood out, however, was the wide-brimmed hat the bride wore in the orange grove, it’s the unique elements like this that make weddings a touch more personal- not to mention fabulous!”
The Details
“The photography captured all elements of the shoot perfectly, from the decorations to the couple. Having a great photographer is essential for any event or shoot. The bridal look was so romantic and effortless. We especially love the bride’s shoes, white wedges with straps up the ankle, not only were these gorgeous- but were much more comfortable than stilettos!”
“Of course, the floral decoration had to fit the orange theme! The bridal bouquet used small oranges alongside greenery to nod to the theme and the table florals used the same colour palette, with beautiful orange blooms. We also loved the addition of woven baskets full of oranges. The beautiful, tiered cake also fit the theme perfectly, with its white icing and simple decoration using small oranges and greenery.”
“The hair and makeup were also effortless and natural. The makeup used warm tones on the eyes and was kept natural and glowing. The hair was left down, with loose curls and a small, dainty flower headpiece containing little orange buds.”
