Imagine eloping to a stunning beach with the sunshine on your back and views to die for. Now imagine a South of France wedding elopement! Today’s wedding inspiration gives us just that as well as beautiful flowers and accessories. We hear from the shoot coordinator and photographer, Maryem, who provides all the inspiration and also how to get the look.
What was the inspiration behind the shoot?
“The decision to orchestrate this South of France wedding elopement styled shoot stemmed from a deep appreciation for the raw and untamed beauty of Marseille’s Calanques. The intention was to fuse the natural wonders of the landscape with the artistry of love, creating a visual narrative that transcends traditional wedding imagery.”
“The Calanques, standing as silent witnesses to centuries of nature’s artistry, become the silent guardians of a love story written in the language of time and tides. The limestone rocks, etched with the tales of eons past, provide a rugged yet majestic stage for the unfolding drama of romance.”
How can a couple turn this theme and ideas into reality?
“To enhance the natural beauty of the surroundings, every detail is thoughtfully curated. The floral arrangements and stationery, bathed in hues of blue, pay homage to the boundless sky and the deep, endless sea. These colors not only reflect the vibrant landscape but also symbolize the depth and constancy of the couple’s commitment. In choosing the bride’s attire, the wind itself becomes a muse. A gown, light as a whisper, is selected to embody the ethereal nature of the breeze that sweeps through the Calanques. As the bride moves, her gown billows and dances in harmony with the invisible currents, creating a visual poetry that echoes the untamed spirit of the Mediterranean.”

The Photography
“Selecting a photographer is a deeply personal choice—it’s not just about falling in love with their artistic style but also forming a connection with the person who will be your visual storyteller throughout the day. It’s about finding someone whose lens not only captures the essence of your celebration but whose presence feels like a seamless extension of your joy, turning every shared moment into a work of art. Choose a photographer not just with your eyes, but with your heart, for their images should not only resonate with your aesthetic but also reflect the genuine connection between you, the couple, and the artist behind the lens.”
The Stationery
“The stationery design echoed the coastal theme, with hues inspired by the boundless sky and the deep, endless sea. Thoughtfully curated in shades of blue, the invitations and other stationery elements paid homage to the vibrant Mediterranean landscape. Delicate details and textures evoked the rugged elegance of the Calanques, creating a visual journey that began with the first glimpse of the invitation and continued throughout the celebration. The South of France wedding elopement stationery became more than information—it became a tactile and visual prelude to the love story set against the timeless backdrop of Marseille’s Calanques.”
The Flowers
“In crafting the floral arrangements for this South of France wedding elopement shoot, we carefully selected blooms mirroring the azure sky and cerulean sea. Indigenous flowers, like stoic lavender and resilient succulents, were chosen to echo the region’s rugged beauty. Each petal became a living tribute to the enduring romance amidst Marseille’s calanques, creating a visual poetry that spoke of love and resilience in the language of nature.”
The Hair and Makeup
“For hair and makeup, we aimed to capture the natural beauty of the surroundings. The bride’s look was inspired by the effortless elegance of the Mediterranean breeze, with a focus on soft, flowing waves and a subtle, dewy glow. The choice of earthy tones and marine-inspired hues complemented the overall theme, ensuring that the bridal styling seamlessly integrated with the enchanting setting of Marseille’s Calanques. The result was a timeless and organic look that celebrated the bride’s individual beauty while harmonizing with the picturesque coastal landscape.”
