Want to bring some vibrant colour to your wedding day? This is the way to do it! With a welcomed alternative vibe this beautiful yellow-themed elopement screams modern city chic. Set in the romantic streets of Bordeaux France, it’s full of beautiful details. A simple colour palette with bold and dramatic effects, and THAT DRESS! Anything with ruffles and we’re in! Led by planner Beatrice of Oui Mon Chou and her creative team of industry professionals they wanted to make a bold statement with the most stunning yellow wedding dress…
“We wanted to create a very fashionable and editorial shoot to counterbalance the theme around yellow which has romantic and bucolic notes. A modern twist on a traditional wedding day; an elopement within the city of Bordeaux. This inspiration is quite simple to reproduce! Use your colour to take up your space. This theme allows for lots of fun with the details and accessories. The yellow wedding dress is a statement in itself so I recommend simple but elegant accessories and the suit should be a very complementary colour to yellow. For decoration and tableware, neutral backgrounds allow you to highlight your selection of yellow elements perfectly.”
THE VENUE
“Maison La Course is a typical bourgeois Bordeaux residence. Its layout, which subtly combines the charm of the old and new, makes it the ideal place for a modern couple who has a taste for beautiful residences, a sense of aesthetics and comfort. This is a top-of-the-range place, and ideal for an elopement.”
GET THE LOOK
“For this bridal style, the short yellow wedding dress (with an additional removable train!) is the masterpiece of the look. I recommend sophisticated but light makeup, leaving a flawless complexion. I love the idea of the back jewel because the fuzzy bustier takes centre stage. The neckline of the back is thus well highlighted but in a delicate way. For the costume, a complementary colour to yellow is necessary. Think white, grey, black, but also blue, green and orange for an alternative look.”
PHOTOGRAPHY
“The choice of your wedding photographer can only be made on an artistic crush! If on seeing their photos, you feel positive emotions then listen to your instincts. Each photographer has their own eye, their style, and editing. On this shoot, Ana’s work pays particular homage to the colour yellow. She immersed herself in the atmosphere that we wanted to create and transmitted it to the images.”
DRESS
“Most brides have an idea of the type of dress they would like but then there is the dress that you actually choose! You have to feel good in it: feeling good does not mean the same thing for every bride. It must adapt to your morphology, the style of bride you are, the theme of your wedding. The best advice; try on as many as necessary, accompanied by stylists or designers.”
HAIR AND MAKEUP
“Make sure you have as perfect complexion as possible, so prep your skin before the big day. The quality of the make-up and the quantity must correspond to your habits, your desires and your tolerance. You should feel beautiful and comfortable. For the hairstyle, it should match the style of your dress and the theme of your wedding. Do not hesitate to make several tests and to ask to keep the hairstyle at the end of the test to see if it holds well.”
FLOWERS
“Floral art fascinates as much as it requires professionalism. Event floristry is a profession in its own right. Your wedding florist will know how to adapt to your ideas, your theme and your tastes. Do not hesitate to discuss at length and build together the bouquets and decorations that will enhance your wedding day”
CAKE
“The first quality of a dessert, and even more so for a wedding cake, is that it must be GOOD! So I can only recommend you to taste it! Pastry chefs are creative people and will always find flavours and formats (individual cake, mounted pieces, puffs, macaroons, desserts) that can harmonise with your desires!”
STATIONERY
“Your stationery has an important place at your wedding as the invitation is what your guests will see first on your big day, and, what they will keep too. I recommend making an aesthetic choice that sets the tone. Ideally, all of your paper elements can then be created in the same aesthetic: place card, menu, gift wrapping, thank you cards and your guestbook”
VIDEOGRAPHY
“Video is an incredible medium! In a time when we have never watched so many series or films, we all remember these old camera films from our childhood, our loved ones gone, our parents’ wedding… If the photos are inked memories forever, accessible to all, all the time, the video has this bonus to awaken our eyes but also our ears. It stimulates an additional memory, it gives life to what is no longer, for a few moments. Get inspired!”
