On the blog today we delve into Emily and Jonathon’s enchanting and romantic wedding at the beautiful Newton Hall, with a traditional yet ethereal vibe, and the most beautiful art deco inspired Temperley wedding dress. Here we catch up with Emily to find out all about her and Jonathon’s love story…
How did you and Jonathon meet and how did he propose?
“Hilariously we met through my mother! She was a client of Jonathan’s business. The proposal was incredibly low key – in the garden of the Goring Hotel, London.
What’s your most important piece of advice for creating and maintaining a strong relationship?
“Building trust through being honest, and not being afraid to speak your mind – you have to be comfortable being yourself as you’re going to be spending a lot of time together!”
Tell us about your wedding gown and how you chose it?
“I knew I wanted a Temperley dress as I love her quintessentially British aesthetic. I only actually tried on around 5 dresses and I knew I’d found the perfect one when my grandmother got so emotional!”
What sort of style did you envision for your wedding day and what was your favourite moment?
“We wanted a real traditional yet ethereal feel to the day, my favourite bit, gosh I honestly couldn’t tell you! it was all so magical.”
Were there any DIY décor elements?
“I wish I could take credit for all of it, but in the professionals, I trust! So, no, they expertly made my vision a beautiful reality.”
If you could do it all over again, what would you change?
“Nothing! The day was just perfect, all I wish for is to have been able to enjoy it for longer. The day just went by sooo quick!”
Any tips that you can give to future brides?
Ensure you’re working with a fantastic caterer, and enjoy each moment!
A wedding is one day, marriage is eternal! You can always wear the dress to hoover the house…
