Whether you are having a 50’s rock and roll inspired wedding or a roaring 20’s wedding party, it’s a great idea to have a picnic wedding breakfast as it suits any budget, theme and flavour palate. Today we catch up with Sarah from Taste The Love to find out why.
“Many of my clients have asked for picnic wedding breakfast. I love creating bespoke picnics for them as it means they can choose the food they love and want to eat on their wedding day.
Here are my favourite reasons why picnics are a great idea:
It is always exciting for guests to dive in and unwrap the food and gets people chatting. When guests who don’t know each other are sitting together, it is a great way to get people talking to each other.
You can have a great selection of food at your picnic wedding breakfast to please all tastes. I like to include a variety of foods, pies, fritatas, charcuterie, salads and cheese selections which means that there will be a whole variety of food for your guests to help themselves to.
You can dress them up in whatever era your wedding is themed around; they are great with vintage tea sets or keep it simple with cute disposable crockery. Little Cherry is a great website for eco friendly crockery ideas. They have a great section on wedding decorations too. Also check out Paper Rose if you want to learn to make your own accessories!
They are a relaxed affair, no silver service three course meals here! Whether you are having a seating plan and people are eating at tables, or your guests are sharing the picnic on picnic blankets, picnics are a relaxed dining experience.
Did you know you can hire picnic baskets for the event? Or upcycle old fruit crates.
They are ideal for catering for lots of people on a budget. You can even ask your guests to bring something along to share at the picnic and hope the sun shines on your big day!
Come and meet Sarah this Sunday (March 19th) at Victoria Baths, Manchester and chat more about your catering wedding needs.
