We catch up with them to find out about this eco-wedding…
“The shoot was heavily inspired by the recent album ‘Folklore’ by Taylor Swift and the beauty of summer turning into autumn. We wanted and effortless, natural feel which suited the venue perfectly. We had rich colours and textures which blended into the surroundings turning into autumn colours. Everything we used was real vintage, recycled, handmade or foraged – we always try to keep all of our shoots highly sustainable and eco-minded. I hope this gives inspiration to all couples to reuse what they already have and to protect the planet.”
Florals – Wild Rosamund
“The look I created with my flowers is what I like to call ‘distilled meadow’; masses of foraged grasses, seed heads and autumnal foliage, mixed with blackberries, crab apples and a handful of specimen flowers including dahlias and spray roses. I even used a windfall crab apple as a focal point in the groom’s buttonhole, instead of a traditional flower. Loads of texture and a few stems of lots of flower varieties is key to this look, as is layering of materials at different heights and depths. Nature isn’t perfect so I love to use imperfect flowers and nibbled leaves. It adds to the natural charm.”
“My style has always been eco-conscious so I forage for materials locally and use British-grown blooms as much as possible. I don’t use floral foam either, so I made the table arrangement and statement tepee designs in vintage containers I sourced from charity shops.”

Dress – Cambridge Vintage Bridal
“The vintage silk and lace gown is at least 81 years young – a risque, late 1930s / early 1940s piece. Sheer, moulded wedding dresses were commonplace in the 1930s, as were non-white, shorter ‘best dress’ gowns in the post-war climate. Peplums were huge as the 1940s beckoned too, so this wedding dress exhibits a lot of trend traits. As with all well-made vintage wedding dresses, this gown looks timeless and very fashion forward – which is precisely why it has been curated into our collection. Cambridge Vintage Bridal loves making vintage look like the future and inspiring couples to make a sustainable fashion statement on their special day.”
Hair and Make Up – Ashley Kay Beauty
“Starting with hair prep, I created a style that could last all day and night, had structure but was relaxed and romantic! I utilised different plait techniques from standard plaits, dutch plaits to fishtails then finished off with soft curls framing the face and a beautiful headpiece for the final touch! For the makeup, I created a luminous, lightweight look that was complimentary of my bride’s eyes, hair colour, dress and beautiful bridal headpiece. I worked with soft corals and earthy tones for this bespoke makeup which perfectly tied in with the overall style and feeling of this beautiful harvest wedding look.”
Accessories – Victoria Louise Accessories
“Accessories are the perfect way for brides to elevate their look giving it that final flourish, whilst allowing a chance to reflect style & personality! As this shoot was “folklore” inspired, I felt that we needed to keep things a little more relaxed, so I created a delicate hair vine to best suit the overall look. I teamed a beautiful handcrafted clay single white rose with glorious golden leaves, florals and lustrous freshwater pearls to give a modern effortless boho/ folklore feel with all the romance! – beautifully complementing without overwhelming.”
Macrame – Lovely Little Knots
“After chatting with Danielle from Array wedding and event prop hire, I got started on creating a nearly naked teepee. The macrame and raffia panels were attached to bamboo rods, to create a rustic backdrop for a ‘ceremony’ area. This piece worked so beautifully within the whole set up, and even more stunning once dressed with beautiful floral pieces.”
“This statement piece would be perfect to add a bohemian touch to any wedding day. With multiple uses, from the ceremony backdrop, to the cake showpiece to photo opportunities for your guests, the possibilities are endless.”
Stationery – 7 Fireflies
“My favourite season is autumn so it was very exciting for me to participate in this photoshoot. The harmony of the warm colors and the late summer lights play together perfectly. My choice of raw materials for stationery was, of course, handmade paper on which I created the antique effect. The engagement heart made of stone and the wooden hair and beard combs were just the perfect accessories for this natural mood. The environmental awareness is reflected in all of my products to show the couples how easy it is: create an environmentally friendly wedding without changing your wedding dreams.”
Signs – Bewildery
“Pairing my signs with the gorgeously rich colours of this Folklore inspired shoot was a dream. I went for a really simple and eco friendly birch plywood, which I left naturally light. Using a clean simple font for the details and adding a touch of calligraphy kept it fun and modern. Black ink complimented the darker elements of the table setting and both the Welcome Sign and the Seating Plan had a small arrangement of foliage to also tie in with the rest of the florals. Wellington Wood is a gorgeous setting for this type of style, the wildflower meadows and ancient woodlands are just some of the beautiful details this Norfolk venue has to offer.
