Inspiration
“We wanted to create a journey for our readers to showcase the unique and varied experiences our Campervans offer. We chose a traditional elegant Christmas theme with rich warm reds, golds, ivory, festoon lighting, hurricane lamps, festive florals, vintage rugs and ceremony seating. With the campervan playing the main role in our couple’s journey it could start months before with a romantic dinner and surprise marriage proposal; then follow with an exchanging of vows under our bespoke arch; then enjoying their wedding cake; all with our campervan as a beautiful and memorable backdrop. Finally, the campervan is transformed into a photo booth full of quirky props and all the fun can continue into the evening. To add that further bit of vintage charm and Christmas spirit, we also featured our one of a kind Indoor TV Lounge Photobooth. The journey ended with our couple cosying up on a sleigh ride home. Hannah had worked with the model’s Faith & Tom before. The three of them working together make a great team and as a result the images that were captured were fun, romantic and very natural.”
How can a couple turn this theme and ideas into reality?
As more wedding venues are allowed to host civil ceremonies on their grounds and many couples are choosing smaller and more intimate weddings, now more than ever is the perfect time to get creative and have fun organising your special day just as you want it. You just need an idyllic and accessible location, wedding backdrop (such as our gorgeous Vintage Campervans), beautiful florals and décor and a wedding celebrant to get you going!
Venue
We wanted a rustic outdoor setting for this shoot and Gulliford Farm was the perfect choice with its outdoor barns and old historical red brick walls and black doors dating back to the 1300’s (Doomsday!)
Styling
Stylist – Vintage Camper Booths

Bride
Dress – Pirouette Bridal
“We wanted a dress that oozed elegance and vintage charm, so the ‘Ettia’ Dress by Maggie Sottero, was just perfect in ivory silk with the most figure-flattering beaded overlay. This was lent to us by ‘Pirouette Bridal’ along with a stunning fluffy white bolero for that added glamorous wintery wedding feel.”
Hair – Toni Gogola
“My inspiration for hair on this shoot was very much taken from Naomi sending me her vision of Sienna Miller. Naomi wanted elegant and a vintage glamour feel to Faith’s hair. Smooth shiny Hollywood waves were perfect and complimented the makeup, dress and style of the shoot. Faith has gorgeous blonde hair which curls beautifully and brushed out to smooth shiny glamorous waves.”
Makeup – Nicola Redman
“In terms of makeup, I really wanted the red lip to be the star of the show here. Paired with flushes of pink on the cheeks to give a healthy, rosy complexion that brightened up the skin tone and created a glow from within. A festive styling brought another thing to mind – a sparkly eye. Keeping the tone champagne and neutral so as not to clash with the lip kept it modern and fresh.”
The Details
Flowers – The Wild Florist
“With beautiful Christmas foliage, red roses and pheasant feathers we created a traditional festive vibe with a twist, telansia is an air plant that is just magical and really completes the look. We would certainly recommend this floral combination for a Winter wedding.”
Cake – Boho Cakes
“The brief was to create a wedding cake which oozed retro Christmas glamour but also retained an air of vintage elegance. The starting point for the cake had to be Rosie, the beautiful red and white vintage VW Campervan! The cake had to reflect the bold colour contrast of crimson and white, with just a hint of vintage pink to add extra glamour. Dark Belgian chocolate truffle sponge layers peeping through a white buttercream skim was the perfect blank canvas for the vivid edible florals provided by Devon’s very own Maddocks Farm Organics and Holly Bee Flowers”
Stationery – Anna Jay
“Anna Jay is a very talented artist with her beautiful hand-painted designs. She created a gorgeous floral stationery design with all the winter colours & flowers and fitted the brief perfectly.”
Accessories – The Lucky Sixpence
“The model for this shoot had the most glorious hair and so through discussion with Toni (Hairstylist), we knew we would have luxurious Hollywood waves. In order to complement the style I wanted to create something timeless, elegant and lightweight that would be easy to pin onto the side of the head and have a nod to bygone eras. I used some limited edition ivy leaves which I procured from a UK maker who is no longer crafting. Carefully entwining them with a mix of golden and clear diamanté’s I created a branch style wrap that could easily be pinned using bobby pins. Super luxurious but also made with a conscience from my solar-powered studio in Devon.”
