A modern elopement wedding in a small English hamlet for todays blog, with English country vibes, beautiful bridal crowns and soft and dreamy styling. It’s intimate vibe shows how your wedding day truly can be about just the two of you. Her we catch up with shoot coordinator and photographer Lilly of Lilly Lane Photography who tell us all about how this elopement wedding was created…
“Tell everyone, invite no one, keep it all about the two of you.”
While elopements remain increasingly popular with couples around the world we wanted to show how one can enjoy the feeling of luxury without comprising the intimacy of the day.
“Still want to be pampered on your wedding day? Want to wear luxurious dresses and accessories? Is the food and table setting quintessential to you? Have a perfect photographer to capture the precious moments? Yes! Yes! And yes to all of that! All these elements are important on your big day but the fuss and extravagance of a full-scale wedding doesn’t need to be.”
“A modern elopement is about paring your wedding day back to include just those people and those things that are most important to you.”
“We chose a small parish church for an intimate ceremony, the vows were beautiful and symbolic and witnessed by a handful of friends.”
“Spring blossom bloomed, the rain stayed away and Amber looked radiant. Both the ceremony and the wedding breakfast were set in a picturesque and tranquil village in Hertfordshire, it was a perfect location.”
“There’s nothing more enjoyable than removing the pressure from the day and enjoying the little things or the parts you want to enjoy, a small wedding feast for two, a pretty and delectable wedding cake and of course the perfect company.”
“We chose a colour palette of green eucalyptus and sweet smelling lilac with accents of pale ivory and blush pink roses. The bouquet looked as if it had just been picked from the garden.”
“Set amid the ruins of the ancient church, which gave a stunningly intimate backdrop, the mini table-scape was all lux golds, glass, taupe and grey, complementing the soft pastels. The cake took pride of place along with delicate macarons. Texture was added with large fluffy cushions and warm throws to nestle under and stay warm.”
“Romantic and feminine, the silk, ivory lace and champagne tulle dresses were complemented with stunning handcrafted gold accessories to give a classical look and Amber’s make up was flawless with hints of copper and silver.”
“The elopement was announced simply by handwritten script on a postcard, nothing more was needed.”
