A luxury chateau wedding on the menu for today, collated to promote the Wedding Royal, an international luxury wedding exhibition based at Château Saint Georges, in Grasse, this shoots exudes opulent and regal vibes, with strong and vibrant styling, colourful florals and a regal wedding cake. Here we catch up with the team behind the shoot who tell us all about the history behind the shoot and how this luxury chateau wedding inspiration was created.
“For this shoot the organisers, Wedding Royal and Lifevents, decided to match the rich history and culture of Grasse (International capital of perfumes) with our Muse Catherine de Medicis and herera, and the splendor of a unique venue on the French Riviera, Château Saint Georges. Our wish was to combine this trilogy and make real the SCENT OF A QUEEN”
“Catherine de Medicis is the incarnation of the a strong queen, an independent women, fully involved in her time and its history. She is closely related to the city of Grasse as she is the one who brought the perfumed gloves from Italy. This year we celebrate the 500th anniversary of her birthday. 2019 is also an important year for Grasse : the know-how of its perfumes have been registered with the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. What a perfect choice that the Château Saint Georges, with its sumptuous decors, marbles and parquets, to organize this timeless shoot.”
We really wanted to emphasize the Renascence style with dark colours, with heavy decors on table, plenty of flowers and fruits and luxurious bouquets in order to follow the souvenirs and paintings we have from this period.
“Olivia Marocco created this shoot and chose models for a real fashion shoot : extravagant poses, haute couture style, fashion expressions. She let her creativity and sensitivity express themselves to bring the touch of modernity necessary to the photos.”
“Château Saint Georges is the best venue on the French Riviera to create the atmosphere chosen. Among all venues here, this is the one with the unique, Little Versailles style : golden details, french moldings, incredible and crystal chandeliers. Built in the XIXth century for a perfumer of Grasse, Château Saint Georges was an obvious choice for the Renaissance style shoot : this is the embodiment of the Renascence style and the history of local perfumes, all what we really wanted to underline. We wished to propose to the future brides a princess wedding, a modern fairytale in a luxurious and timeless setting.”
“The bride wore a dress and veil from Belotti Couture and jewellery from Volterra. The dresses were chosen to match with the empirical style sought : shoulders, sleeves, lace, volumes.”
Déco & d’Harmonie and Maud Création Florale worked together to design the styling of the table and decor. Both their talents combined brought a perfect vibe to the shoot. They mixed perfectly colourful flowers and fruits, with goldish candelabras and dark candles. The stationery was created by Déco & d’Harmonie ; she used this dark blue relating to Catherine de Medicis and the Renaissance and goldish elements.”
To complete the setting table, Maisons Options brought a touch of Royalty with a beautiful range of gold and silver cutlery (Windsor collection), famous gold Marquis glasses, the goldish presentation Impériale plates and the gold and red Opera Napoleon chairs.”
“The porcelain plates (for the main course and the dessert) came from Château Saint Georges.”
“The table design was created and thought given to the sophisticated brides, who want to be the queen of the day, who want to live the Versailles dream on the French Riviera.”
