Rock chick, elegance, and rustic all rolled into one with today’s styled shoot set at Sulgrave Manor, in the beautiful Northamptonshire country side. The blank canvas barn allows for the most versatile setting for your big day, and with grand beams, picturesque surroundings and some rustic, elegant styling by the team it’s sure to give lots of inspiration. Coordinated by Ross and Ross Events , Something Borrowed Event Hire and Cherry Tree Cakerie, this rustic, elegant wedding at Sulgrave Manor is a beauty; we catch up with the team to find out all about how it was created.
“Located amongst a beautiful conservation area within the Northamptonshire countryside, Sulgrave Manor was the historical setting for our ‘rustic elegance’ styled wedding shoot. As well as hosting weddings within its manor, Sulgrave also boasts an impressive barn with a high, oak-beamed ceiling, which was the perfect spot for showcasing an alternative to the traditional wedding breakfast whilst demonstrating how to create a beautifully elegant wedding within a rustic setting.”
“Complementing the warm natural wood of the barn, the room was set with long wooden trestle tables and benches set beneath cascading chiffon sails that draped romantically from the beams. The tables were styled with soft, dusky pink chiffon runners and filled with taupe, blush and deep raspberry coloured candles of various heights and sizes scattered amongst coloured bud vases filled with delicate flowers in jewel tones of soft pinks, creams and greens and ‘gathered from the garden’ urn arrangements. Finished with beautiful glassware and glass chargers, the whole effect was of a full and multi-level tablescape, which reflected the light and created a beautifully soft and romantic feel.”
“The finishing touches in the room were a statement moon-gate draped with foliage and wisteria, which sat proudly behind the top table framing the bride and groom’s sweetheart table, and a wooden cake swing, draped with chiffon and displaying a wedding cake in soft pinks and creams decorated with a cascade of handmade sugar foxgloves.”
“The wedding stationery was designed with an organic, natural and muted colour palette to reflect the rustic elegance of the shoot. Colours of mist, taupe and soft blue were used as complementary colours for the invitation suite, which was finished with delicate botanical illustrations, printed on a vellum wrap with wax seals.”
“Our bride was dressed in two alternative looks with pieces from the Modeca and Justin Alexander collections. The first look was accessorised with a white leather jacket and ivory cowboy boots for an edgier and free-spirited bridal style. The second look reflected a simpler style, which echoed the floaty elegance of the chiffon inside venue.”
“The bride’s hair accessories of delicate florals and dainty beaded foliage also suited the soft chiffon’s and gorgeous boho floatiness. The Eva hair vine, Ffion headband and Alexis and Mila hair pins added just a touch of subtle English country garden and a white rose comb made for a slightly bolder statement piece. The two bridal bouquets complemented the bridalwear, one of which was picked straight from the wildflower meadows in the gardens of Sulgrave Manor.”
