Rustic Woodland Wedding with Boho Styling and a Glitter Bar
“Woodland Sparkle Woodland venues are the perfect settings for rustic weddings, but they also provide amazing backdrops for couples to inject colour, glamour and sparkle into their day. The concept of the shoot was centered around the fun and energy of having a wedding glitter bar and we wanted to achieve a look that combined rustic elements of a fun outdoor glamping venue with elegance, glamour, sparkle and glitz. What originally started out as a small idea between Emily from Face ‘n’ Glitz and myself Holly Honeywell quickly snowballed into a full blown shoot collaborating with incredible suppliers.”
Glitter Bar – Face and Glitz
“Glitter Bars are a growing trend at weddings to inject fun and and glam to the day. Face ‘n’ Glitz’s Rustic Glitter Bar brings the sparkle and allows guests to mingle and have fun whilst creating wonderful memories that will last forever. Emily chose elegant aquamarine gems for the bridesmaid and maid of honour to match the sparkle on their dresses, with each design slightly different to work with the ladies’ styled hair. elegant necklace styled design laid perfectly on the skin of the Bride complementing the neckline of the dress and exquisitely showing the explosion of colour in the bouquet. For an evening party look the Bride opted for gems and glitter on her face in blacks and purples. Even Guinness the horse was involved in the shoot and had a gem design on his face in purples to match – perfect if you want your horse to be present at your own special day.”
Venue – Shepherd’s Hut Rest
“The Shepherd’s Hut Rest venue in Northwold, Norfolk was the perfect location to host our styled shoot. With amazing shepherds huts and campfire pit, the whole wedding party got ready surrounded by large expanses of open fields, ancient trees and beautiful woodland. The ceremony was set in the woodland and the beautiful tall trees perfectly canopied the macramé backdrop and made the bright rich colours of the “go big or go home” floral display really pop. The groom and groomsmen were able to get about and arrive at the ceremony on a golf buggy which is available to hire.”
Styling – Holly Honeywell
“The venue lent itself to plentiful options when it came to how a stunning rustic wedding would unfold throughout the day. Using vintage props and colour brought the rustic glamour theme to life. The woodland provided the perfect setting for a rustic ceremony; a macrame backdrop was the perfect focal point for the couple to marry in front of, dressed with flowers and surrounded by beautiful vintage brassware with hurricane vases and candles. The table setting continued the style with ornate vintage brassware, candlesticks and colourful jewel vintage glass. Again, this was dressed with Bekah’s beautiful flowers. Handwritten geode name places in hot pinks and purples using golden leaves were laid on plates for each guest doubling as beautiful favours and keepsakes. Gold cutlery provided the finishing touches to the table settings. The bridal party cuddled up around the campfire with lovely soft rustic blankets. While bright and cheerful hand crocheted blankets covered the hay bales.”

“The venue is a photographer’s dream. The weather was glorious and the light was soft and delicate, highlighting the textures of the fauna which lent themselves perfectly to a glamorous
wedding. Everywhere you turn there are interesting shepherds huts, gates, trees, hay bales and wide open spaces which offer ample photo opportunities.”
Suits – Golding of the New Market
“The rich blue suits from Goldings of Newmarket worn by the groom and his best men made the colours of the buttonhole flowers pop. The maroon ties featured pheasants and foxes, adding a rustic touch and subtly reflecting the pheasant feathers in the floral arrangements.”

Dress – Something Old Something New
“Something Old Something New supplied the gorgeous boho style dress for the shoot. The dress bodice featured lace, embellished with delicate beading and sequins. The scalloped edge of the lace finished over a beautiful, finely layered full silk skirt. We all agreed that the dress was amazing but when Danielle put it on it was a real WOW moment (obviously we didn’t let our model groom see the dress until the ceremony).”
“Leanne Blenkhorn provided the stunning white faux fur stole from her collection of beautifully hand crafted garments.”
Accessories
“The bridal party rocked personalised pale pink and white gowns from The Bespoke Wedding Gift Company. Perfect to get a great girly photo of the party getting ready and raising a glass of bubbles. For a funky twist, customised leather jackets provided by Sammy Leas Retro Emporium reflected the colours of the theme in golds, purples and pinks.”
Florals – Rose and Rhubarb
“To achieve the glamorous look, Bekah used rich jewel-like colours and textures with dried bracken and pheasant feathers to complement the rustic setting. Stunning structural protea’s, carnations and roses in rich pinks, purples and indigos formed the brides bouquet with trailing chenille flowers. The floral crown for the bride was rich and regal and contrasted beautifully with the white stole and delicate dress. The bridesmaids also had the most beautiful floral headbands. Bekah went all out on the macrame backdrop in the woodland and used lots of foliage and leaves it to make the ceremony backdrop look natural, with the addition of pops of colour provided by the rich hot pink, purple and gold flowers.”
Hair – Cara Hubbard
“The Brides hair was styled with loose tousled waves making the floral crown look effortlessly natural and wild. The bridesmaid and maid of honour wore elegant teased plaits with loose tresses, Cara worked with each of the girls styling their hair slightly differently to work within the theme.”
Make-up – Make up by Louise X
“Louise adopted soft tones of mauve for the eyes, matched with beautiful mauve lipstick complementing the gorgeous colours of the flowers and keeping it fresh and feminine.”
Giant Rustic Letters – Lily and Jims
“The amazing handmade 6ft LOVE letters fitted perfectly with the theme adding rustic charm and supplying the fun for the wedding party photographs.”
Cake – Victoria Jane Bakes
“Victoria Jane Bakes provided the most stunning and scrumptious semi-naked cake, with layers of salted caramel, vanilla, and almond with raspberry and amaretto jam.”
