Dark and dreamy for todays styled shoot at The Greyhound Hotel, London, with lots of alternative wedding details including, a red bridal veil, patterned groom suits and non-traditional wedding dress alternatives. Coordinated by Jessica Fasciano with a team of collaborators it has a soft rock vintage feel with a modern edge, here we catch up with them to find out all about this relaxed rock shoot at The Greyhound Hotel, London…
“Intimate, Alternative, with a relaxed Rock Vibe. We wanted to inspire people with confidence to have the day they really love. This is for couples who want their day to reflect their individuality. The idea was born from a concept I have always wanted to develop, focusing on young couples expressing themselves in an alternative and unique way, getting rid of the etiquette and putting their character and freedom at the centre of their big day. So whimsical outfits meet unconventional venue and cake – and the result is exactly what I was looking for! Freedom and Love in all it’s uniqueness.”
“From a palette of black, white and red, with an alternative, relaxed, rock vibe, we created an epic love story with beautiful details, celebrating individuality with independently created elements from a hand cut burgundy veil, to a stunning black marble cake with a cascade of red sugar roses and gilded leaves, to incredible jackets and beautiful lace and tulle bridal separates to die for.
“Shot in the Greyhound Hotel, in Carshalton, South London. A Grade II listed hotel and a traditional pub with a stylish twist, it is steeped in local heritage, being associated with Anne Boleyn, and provides the perfect cohesion of Surrey countryside and London life. With lovely views over the Carshalton Ponds and a lively outside terrace.”
Styling- The Italian Dream
“As a teenager I used to be obsessed with Rock music and everything was connected to it – the outfits, OH THE OUTFITS – ripped jeans, Dr.Martens and loose T-shirts, my eternal loves! I wanted the shoot to inspire couples to incorporate parts of their history into their day, whether that was boots under the dress JD Bottles as candle holders or personalised Napkins in your colours by The Embroidered Napkin Company. I loved handpicking elements from the amazing red ceramics by Febbie Day to the gorgeous handprinted leather jacket from Alexandra Bespoke which tied into the incredible floral columns by The Botanical Company and the stunning cascade of flowers on the Cake by Alchemy of Sugar. If you want to express yourself, talk to your planner and your suppliers, even if you don’t want a full styling service they can help you have an awesome day that’s all you.”

“I always love working on a shoot that is achievable for real couples to style, especially one that stretches itself away from tradition (have you seen that Mohawk inspired hair?!), and it was fantastic to work with a real couple. This meant we could get some gorgeously genuine intimate shots, as well as some with proper Rock ‘n’ Roll attitude. So many of my couples say “Oh, it’s just a pub…” but look how awesome a pub wedding can be! Moody lighting, incredible wallpaper, and the invitation to just get creative with locations for those couple photos. Absolutely love it. Plus, it’s always a relaxed vibe, and isn’t a wedding all about having fun with the people that you love?”
Cake – Alchemy of Sugar
“When I heard the style was Rock ’n’ Roll, I wanted to create something as different and unique as the couple would be. Hand painted Black Marble, touched with Gold Leaf – it’s gorgeous, a little rebellious, but completely confident and happy as you should be on your day. Handmade Wild Sugar Roses, incorporated the red, whilst gilding the leaves and branches with gold took them to another level. Matching hand painted Marble Cookies are the perfect favour or sweet treat, along with my Signature Queen Vic Cupcakes (with secret raspberry preserve centres) finished with gold leaf. At the heart of Alchemy of Sugar, is the belief that every Wedding should be as unique as you are. Intimate or lavish, each should be epic in their own way. Find an inspirational Cake Artist who cares just as much about your day as you do and trust them to create something incredible.”
Bridal- Matchimony
“The bride’s attire was supplied by Matchimony featuring a few options from their bespoke separates range. With stunning tulle skirts in the deepest forest green to the gorgeous frothy ombré tulle skirt (RRP £80) coupled with the classic simplicity of a sleeveless lace top (RRP £55) it created an alternative look to the classic rock theme. Matchimony is changing the face of bridal by launching a stunning capsule range of separates and simple dresses in a huge range of colours with bespoke sizing and a retail amount of between £100-£300 for a complete bridal look including custom sizes. To get this same look visit Matchimony.co.uk and view their range.”
Flowers- The Botanical Flower Company Ltd
“We were inspired by the bold tones of this shoot and wanted to create a classic yet alternative twist with the Floral Designs. We combined Reds, subtle tones of Burgundy, hints of Nude together with a touch of White which we blended by using a seasonal mixture of Scabiosa, Roses, scented Narcissus, Astrantia & a pop of Anthurium in the Columns which really brought the designs alive. We loved creating this Bridal bouquet to compliment the stunning outfit supplied by Matchimony and hair & make up by Toni Searle. The bouquet was designed in mind of the outfit, complimenting the tones throughout, right down to the colour of the lipstick. Our statement Floral Columns are perfect to frame you during your Wedding Ceremony, or even either side of the top table. We just love how versatile they are, and how the expression of them can reflect you as a couple.”
Hair and Make Up- Toni Searle Beauty
“As soon as I saw the theme was Rock n Roll I knew I had to be a part of this shoot! I love a “cool bride” and wanted to try a bridal mohawk style for ages. It was fun to get creative with the hair and makeup, and I thought a smokey eye and dark lip would be perfect. I also wanted to show that you CAN do bold eyes and lips – you don’t have to follow the rules! Bridal style has changed so much now and there are so many options, I want to encourage you to do it your way.”
Stationery – London Paper Crafts
“We’re passionate about creating stationery that’s exactly as our clients envisage, we love sharing in their joy in creating items unique to them. Therefore, working on a shoot to inspire couples to celebrate their individuality was important to us. Inspired by the cake design by Alchemy of Sugar, we created a range of marble stationery to include an invitation suite with corresponding signage. Your wedding day should reflect your individuality. It’s important to be honest with your Stationer and have them create something that you can treasure forever; the relationship should be one of consultancy. They should guide you and use their creativity to suggest unique ways to personalise your event and bring your vision to life We design everything from Save The Dates to post-wedding stationery, and encourage couples to look for Stationers like us, who print on quality stock creating a luxury you can see and feel.”
Jewellery – Bish Bosh Becca
“This was a fun vibrant shoot to be part of. The rock n roll twist gave me the opportunity to provide jewellery that is a bit different from the usual white pearls. I choose gorgeous silver peacock coloured pearls as they really shimmer like oil on water. I created a modern pearl knot choker necklace and a silver chain bracelet hanging with different shape and size pearls. The look was completed by a pair of silver hoop earrings.”
“When choosing jewellery for your wedding day never be afraid to ask if something is not exactly what you are looking for. Your jeweller can work with you to create the perfect pieces for you, your bridesmaids and flower girls.”
