The Spa – The Devonshire Arms
During our stay we had free access to the luxury spa, located at the Hotels sister property The Devonshire Arms at Bolton Abbey, a short 10 minute drive away, (more beautiful scenic driving) we, of course had to indulge, it would have been rude not to! A quaint and serene haven of luxury we took full advantage of the jacuzzi, experience shower and relaxation area, and felt well and truly relaxed and ready for dinner…
The Food
The Devonshire Fell holds two AA Rosettes so you are sure to get an array of impressive options for your wedding day. The chefs are ‘passionate’ about food, they use Yorkshire produce, and will create a menu personal to you, with mouth watering options to meet the needs of you and your guests.
We got to sample the cuisine, at our evening meal and it did not disappoint. We were seated overlooking… of course… more wonderful views of the dales. The restaurant area was both light and airy with complimentary decor and our beautifully laid table awaited us. We indulged in glass of fizz whilst browsing the impressive menu, and were served not one, but two appetisers – A olive and tomato tapenade, with mushroom arancini and a personal favourite, sea salt foccaccia with beetroot butter… we could have eaten this over and over, it was to die for, simple, but mouth-wateringly beautiful.
The appetisers left us wanting more and the cuisine that we picked showed off the extensive range of food that they have to offer, this included a crispy duck egg with asparagus to start, halloumi, courgette and carrot patties with chilli oil for main course and a freshly made chocolate fondant with white chocolate ice cream and kirsch cherries for dessert… and the breakfast menu was just as varied and just as impressive! We could see, and definitely taste, why the Fells restaurant holds two AA Rosettes rating.
A huge thanks to the hotel for providing us with such a lovely stay, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We could not fault the wonderful customer service we received, every single team member at the Hotel was faultless, warm, friendly and welcoming, they definitely went the extra mile!
Please note that we were gifted this stay, however all our thoughts in this blog post are true and our own.
